One of the most challenging aspects of the Christian life is taking the truths of the gospel and making personal application for daily life. This personal application will not take place without intentional thought and effort. To live a gospel centered and Christ centered day, I must be able to purposefully direct my thoughts toward biblical truth. In other words, I have to be able to preach the gospel to myself and apply it to my current circumstances. Note to Self by Joe Thorn will teach you by example to preach the gospel to yourself daily. It is filled with very short meditations meant to serve as guidelines for how to direct my thoughts toward God and the gospel. Since Romans 12:2 tells us to renew our minds with the truth, the pastors are recommending this book to you as a weapon in the ongoing battle for your mind. |
