Fred was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina but grew up in Sanford, NC.

He received his Bachelor's degree in History at Mars Hill College and his Masters degree in History at James Madison University.  He taught history and served as Principal for Grace Christian School in Tennessee before moving to Lynchburg.  He is currently the Administrator and Secondary Principal of Timberlake Christian Schools. 

Fred and his wife Heather have three children, Will, Jackson, and Ava.
